New Year...New Thoughts...

Dear Friends,
I wish you all a Happy New Year! I would like to promise that I will eat better, curse less, knit more, complain less, but in reality that may never happen. I will say that I'm going to try to focus on a better outlook, and just have more patience...

Cheers!
This is a lovely photo of Providence. I love this park on Prospect Hill. Enjoy!

Birthday Today!

Today is my birthday, and I turned 44. I really do not have issues about being 44, it's a number and it's nothing else. I enjoyed the day receiving so many wonderful wishes from great friends near and far. I feel very blessed. I was able to spend the evening with my parents and my children helping me blow out my candles, and tomorrow is Thanksgiving, another favorite day!
I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving filled with traditions new and old.

My Muse...

If you're looking for a little escape from the rain and drizzle, click this link about Celia Birtwell, a lovely designer who created beautiful garments. I have decided to create some new sketches and designs inspired by Ms. Birtwell, for my first children's collection. Enjoy the sounds of the birds while you view these wonderful pieces. Close your eyes and disappear into spring and your own secret place.

Silk Fabric from LONDON has arrived!

I'm so excited that this lovely fabric has just arrived from London. I paid way too much for it, I forgot that you need to double the UK price, to get the proper price in US dollars...Oh well!
This fabric will be added to the linings of my new designs!
I will show you the design as soon as I finish knitting the rest of it!

Finally went to the movies!

I know that it's not such a big deal to some but I can count how many times I have actually gone to the movies this year! I guess I lead a boring...well mostly a life filled with too much work and not enough fun, LIFE. I went to see Julie/ Julia and loved it. Light, charming and enjoyable way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
I have quite a busy day tomorrow at work, not looking forward to it...I'm looking forward to completing a few new designs and I have dreamed up a lovely concept...to delicious to share right now, kind of like the Brie I just bought at Whole Foods today, totally inspired by the movie! I covered it with raspberries and honey drizzled on top, quite decadent for a little snack, but we must take good care of ourselves every now and then!

My Daughter's Big Night!

My lovely daughter Elise, will have her first art show tomorrow evening at The Silver Circle Studio, in Putnam, CT. I'm so proud of her! She will have seven pieces in the show. Her style is a reflection of her love of fashion, music and design. She dreams to be a textile designer some day!

In a cardigan state of mind....

Seems like everything that I have been knitting these days resembles a cardigan...

New sweater design

Today was busy at work but I felt good about getting some work done in the studio when I got home. I created these collage baby cardigans. I'm using this lovely merino wool from Webs, www.yarn.com called Amherst, ( a little reminder of my days spend visiting Elise at Mt. Holyoke, and trim from my friend Fonnie's company Sheep Shop. I have created 2 more cardigans for this collection. I would like to post those soon and would love to hear your feedback.
